The psychology behind designer luggage
Despite the economic doom and gloom, designer luggage is selling like hot cakes in preparation for the 2009 holiday season. But why do people spend so much on luggage?
Your luggage says a lot about you. If you travel with a tatty rucksack people will make assumptions about your lifestyle. Carry a smart set of designer luggage and their assumptions will be completely different.
But the ‘look at me’ effect only goes so far. The only people who will know that you’re carrying designer luggage are other designer luggage owners, those who aspire towards it, celebrity watchers and the people who sell it!
The main reason for buying designer luggage obviously goes a lot deeper than merely showing off. There are so many good fakes around that unless someone examines your luggage close up - which would be a bit weird! - they probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
Most people seem to buy posh luggage primarily because it makes them feel good. Which, when many indulgences are a thing of the past, is a better reason than sheer vanity. We all need to feel good, especially when times are challenging. And feeling good is great karma!
So head off to your nearest online luxury luggage store and indulge yourself without guilt. You’re worth it!

People can and do read so much into superficial things like the bags you are carrying, the clothes you are wearing, your watch or your car. It’s sad really - but you can have some fun with a few pieces of ‘imitation’ designer luggage.

This is true so people are fascinated with spending loads of cases to be bashed and smashed by airport staff. Its crazy when you see a £300 case brokenly going round a conveyor belt.
