Christening Our New Wooden Pool
With the arrival of little spring-like weather my family were desperate to dive into our new wooden pool which we’ve just had built in our back garden. It’s a good job I opted to have a good pool heater installed as the weather has just turned frosty again.
I just hope their enthusiasm for the pool continues. No sooner had the weather turned slightly spring-like, a couple of weeks ago, and my children started to ask ‘can we go in the pool yet’, repeatedly. Rather like when we are on a journey in the car and they keep asking ‘are we nearly their yet?’ Often only minutes into the journey. It was clear I wouldn’t get any peace until they’d gotten their feet wet in the newly installed pool. So I turned on the new pool heater to warm the water for a couple of days (I did consider leaving it cold) and my two children took the pool for a test swim.
The new pool is clearly a success. My daughter found it hard to get out of the water and then she was straight on her phone to tell all her friends about how great it is. The following day we had a gaggle of young girls dashing through the house squealing in their bathing costumes. My younger son felt a little outnumbered but he was soon happily joining in a boisterous game of water volleyball.
The weather has still been a little too cold for my wife and myself to venture into the pool water, but the forecast is looking promising with more spring weather on its way this week. My own forecast is that our new wooden pool will be a popular attraction this coming summer and I might find myself thinking about charging an entrance fee (only joking).
