Atheists - let’s build a new ‘religion’!
Atheists can have a lively, fulfiling spiritual life too!
I’m an atheist. The thing is, atheism doesn’t provide an alternative to gods and mythical beings. It’s more of a statement of disbelief.
I decided a few years ago that it’d be cool to make up my own ‘religion’. No gods, no guilt, no obligations, no praying or regretting or self-flagellating!
While I don’t like the word ‘religion’, it seems to fit the bill. In reality my ‘religion’ is just a list of things to do which’ll help you have a happy life and make other people happy while you’re at it.
I’m a UK-based copywriter by profession. I run my own business, I love gardening, partying, hiking… nothing particularly batty. In other words, I’m not some nutter. I just thought it’d be fun to write down what makes my very happy life tick, in case it tickles anyone else’s fancy. Just for fun.
