Accountant? Head for Scotland and a Better Quality of Life
Scotland has loads of space. It’s beautiful, offering endless miles of stunning scenery. Edinburgh and Glasgow deliver culture, great shopping, eating, entertainment, music and a turbulent history. No wonder people across all professions are moving North in droves in search of the good life.
Accountancy jobs in Edinburgh are hot at the moment. The city is ideally placed for national and international transport links. It is close to the delightful East Lothian coast complete with wonderful Bass Rock, Aberlady Bay and Tantallon Castle. And, despite the economy being wobbly, demand for quality acountants remains strong.
Find a reputable recruitment agency that’s accountancy-focused and aware of the subtleties of the market. Every city is unique and it is wise to track down a firm with a deep understanding of the region rather than work remotely with an agency outside Scotland.
Asking around is the intelligent option. Find an agency that accountants respect. A firm that they use to recruit the best people. You can’t beat a word of mouth recommendation. Quiz a decent handful of local Edinburgh accountancy firms and pick the company that comes up most frequently. Then head off into gorgeous Scotland, embrace Edinburgh and start living a better quality of life!

Indeed, Scotland is a gorgeous piece of the world. I’ll always have fond memories of my time in Edinburgh. A city steep in history, which fuels the wonderful vibes of inspiration and culture.
